Soft Orange' displays the excellent qualities of the Artisan™ Series, displaying its lovely orange flowers on well-branched, sturdy and compact plants with a high bud count. The large flowers are single, and the richly colored petals overlap surrounding an attractive brown cone. Deadhead some stems to keep the blooms coming longer, but if you keep some seedheads on you can provide food for wintering songbirds as well as added winter interest.
Homeowner Growing Tips: Coneflowers like it sunny and hot. They can tolerate light shade, but they will produce fewer flowers and the plants will be weakened. They will grow in any well-drained soil, though light and loamy soils are best. They are drought tolerant once established, and if properly cared for they will form an attractive colony that will live for years to come.
