Saucer magnolias were first cultivated in the mid 1800’s and have been enjoying a special place in the spring landscape ever since. This is a mid-sized shade tree which grows between 20-30 feet tall, 25 feet wide. It has a beautiful rounded shape and as it grows taller a savvy gardener will remove lower branches until it becomes a perfect shady place to place a garden bench.
